Established in 1962, the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS-Lebanon) is the oldest national public institution entrusted with guiding and promoting scientific research in Lebanon. It operates with administrative and financial autonomy, reporting to the Prime Minister.
The CNRS-L encompasses five specialized research centers, each dedicated to advancing knowledge in their respective fields. These centers foster interdisciplinary collaboration and contribute significantly to scientific progress.
The CNRS-L operates two national research platforms that extend the impact of its scientific mission, serving both the research community and the public.
